Waste plan to make 'millionaires' of tribe
Facebook Twitter Email
FRIDAY, MAY 31, 2002

The chairman of the Skull Valley Goshute Tribe of Utah won't reveal how much money a group of private utility companies will pay to store up to 44,000 tons of nuclear waste on the reservation.

But opponents within the tribe say the deal is worth $48 million over 40 years. That's 33 million pounds for the British readers.

The state of Utah vehemently opposes the site. Federal reviews have given favorable reviews.
