THURSDAY, MAY 23, 2002 The Tanana Chiefs Conference is holding a three-day meeting to focus on wellness issues affecting 41 Native villages in the interior region of Alaska. A major agenda item is the use of $1.9 million in federal funds obtained from the Alaska Federation of Natives. The money would be used for sobriety, tribal court, village safety and alcohol control programs. Get the Story:
