Tribes criticize Bush proposals

The Affiliated Tribe of Northwest Indians held its annual meeting in Idaho this week.

Tribes opposed the reorganization of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and said their suggestions for reform were ignored by the government. They also said the new budget for the Indian Health Service failed to meet the needs of Indian Country.
