Navajo reforms considered at summit

The Navajo Nation Statutory Reform Convention began in New Mexico on Monday.

Summit attendees are considering 26 amendments to the way the Navajo government works. The proposals vary from reducing the size of the tribal council to 81 members to clarifying the powers of the executive branch.

The Navajo council will ultimately vote whether to accept the amendments.
