Crow chairman pleads innocent

MONDAY, MAY 13, 2002

Clifford Bird in Ground, the chairman of the Crow Tribe of Montana, pleaded guilty today in federal court for his involvement in a car fraud scheme.

Bird in Ground and three others are alleged to have used tribal funds to obtain vehicles for tribal members. All were released without bail.
