Ross Swimmer still not confirmed as special trustee

It's been a month since the Senate Indian Affairs Committee approved, on a near party-line, the nomination of Ross Swimmer as Special Trustee at the Department of Interior.

But Swimmer, a former assistant secretary and former principal chief of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, still haven't been confirmed by the full Senate, the Associated Press reminds readers. Supporters, including Rep. Brad Carson (D-Okla.), also Cherokee, and the Bush administration say he will be approved shortly.
