Bush asked to oppose tribal land bill
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2002

Governor Bill Graves (R) of Kansas has written President Bush to seek support in opposition a bill to settle a tribal land claim.

Graves opposes a bill by Rep. Dennis Moore (D-Kan.) to settle the Wyandotte Nation's claim to 2,000 acres. The deal would pave the way for a casino.

Graves and four of the state's tribes oppose the casino. The Wyandotte Nation is currently based in Oklahoma.
