Harvard symposium tackles issues facing Natives

On December 4 and 5, Harvard University held the first Native Issues Research Symposium.

The forum's purpose was to promote research and scholarly work on Native Americans. According to The Harvard Gazette, issues discussed included language, health, natural resources, tribal-state relations and sovereignty.

Organizers plan to gather the research presented at the symposium into a book series.
