Indian mounds in Wis. to become nature preserve

A 40-acre plot of land containing about 22 conical Indian mounds was donated to Jefferson County, Wisconsin, for use a nature preserve.

The mounds have been looted, according to the the state archaeologist, but the looting has been minimal. It is believed there are human remains located in the mounds.

The Garman family donated the land to the county.
