Calif. tribe not ready to close tire plant yet

The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians of California is looking for ways to keep its tire-recycling plan up and running. The tribe started First Nation Recovery Inc. four years ago, the first of its kind in Indian Country. The business was able to tap into a strong market for a recycled tire product called crumb rubber. But the crumb rubber market has dropped 30 to 40 percent, The Riverside Press-Enterprise. So the tribe has cut costs and is examining other ways to market recycled tire products. Get the Story:
