Tribal donations make up bulk of spending in Conn.

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes accounted for 70 percent of the campaign contributions in the state so far this year, The Norwich Bulletin reports.

The tribes, tribal members and their employees donated a total of $141,500 to various candidates, according to Federal Election Commission filings the paper located. The Mohegan Tribe and its affiliates gave a total of $76,250, mostly to Democrats, while the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and its affiliates spread $65,250 to members of both parties.
