Enterprise Rancheria cooperating with probe
Wednesday, November 19, 2003

The chairman of the Estom Yumeka Maidu Tribe of the Enterprise Rancheria said the tribe is cooperating with a federal investigation.

Harvey Angle said information will show that the tribe has used federal funds properly. According to press accounts, the FBI has issued subpoenas to Angle and four other members of the tribal council.

The five were the target of a recall campaign but then initiated disenrollment proceedings against 70 members who opposed them. Last week, the tribal membership voted the 70 members out of the tribe.
