DOI moving into new building in Albuquerque

The Department of Interior is moving into a new building in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The building will house 500 employees from five Interior agencies. According to New Mexico Business Weekly, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Office of the Special Trustee will relocate some employees there.

Separately, DOI is paying for a new BIA regional headquarters in Albuquerque on land owned by the 19 Pueblos. The facility is to be completed in early 2004.
