Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. vetoed two appropriations measures on Monday.

Shirley said that council delegates added money for projects that didn't belong in the bills. One would have provided a $1.5 million grant for the Din Power Authority, which is trying to develop a $1.7 billion coal-fired power plant.
