Blackfeet Tribe sets memorial for CIA employee

The Blackfeet Nation of Montana is holding a memorial service next Thursday for William Carlson, a tribal member killed in Afghanistan while performing anti-terrorism work for the CIA.

Carlson, 43, was ambushed by the Taliban and died during a six-hour gunfight. He was an ex-Special Forces member.

Keith Heavyrunner, the veterans representative for the tribe, told The Native American Times that Carlson was hunting for terrorist leader Osama bin Laden. "He was fighting for the freedom of all Native Americans in his homeland after was happened on September 11th,' Heavyrunner told the paper. "He�s a warrior.�
