Finances for popular Navajo fair in question again
Wednesday, October 29, 2003

Navajo Nation leaders are seeking a better accounting of funds spent and raised during the recent Shiprock Northern Navajo Fair.

Two rival entities ran the fair this year. But the financial statement being submitted is incomplete, said a Navajo chapter leader. The statement did not reflect the Navajo Nation's contributions to the fair either.

The fair's finances have been questioned in the past, leading to the dispute over who has control.
