A Utah woman is under investigation for homicide and child abuse after an 18-month-old boy died in her care.

Jeannette Gomez, 30, could be charged as early as today. She was arrested and jailed on Friday.

The boy was a member of the Northern Ute Tribe. At one time, the boy and his sister were taken out of the care of the Gomez household and placed closer to the reservation. But the children were moved back to the Gomez home.
