BIA seeking comments on Jena land-into-trust
Friday, October 10, 2003

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is proposing to take 47 acres into trust for the Jena Band of Choctaws of Louisiana.

The tribe doesn't plan on opening a casino on the land, an official said. The tribe was federally recognized in 1994 but lacks a reservation or land base.
