Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe renegotiates tax agreement

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and the state of South Dakota signed a new tax agreement on Wednesday. The agreement will bring more revenues to the tribe. Since the majority of the population in two counties is Indian, the tribe will receive 78 percent of the state sales, gas and contractor's excise tax collected there. The tribe is expected to receive an additional $1 million a year. Get the Story:
