Boxing a tradition for youth on Nev. reservation
Monday, October 6, 2003

The Walker River Paiute Reservation in Nevada has produced some notable boxers over the decades.

The heart of the amateur boxing community on the reservation is the town of Schurz, population 721. The small town doesn't have its own boxing ring but generations young boys and even one girl have joined the local boxing club.

The Schurz club is one of four predominantly Indian teams that will compete in an upcoming amateur boxing bout.
