Editorial: Long wait on trust fund is 'obscene'
Monday, September 29, 2003

Decisions from the federal judge in the Indian trust fund case are a victory to Indian account holders but are "half of a stale loaf," The Denver Post says in an editorial.

The paper says the decisions affirm that the Indian trust should be treated like any other trust. But the paper notes that U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth gave the Department of Interior five more years to do what it has not done for more than 120 years.

"The long wait is obscene," the paper says.
