Bruce Wynne, an artist and leader from the Spokane Tribe of Washington, died of an apparent heart attack this past Saturday. He was 59.

Wynne served on the tribal council, was president of the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians from 1991-1999 and was an area vice president of the National Congress of American Indians. He obtained a degree in sculpting from the Institute of American Indian Arts and obtained an arts degree from the University of Colorado.
