Agreement reached to share power for Navajo fair
Wednesday, September 24, 2003

Two competing groups have reached an agreement to share control of the 92nd Northern Navajo Nation Shiprock Fair, The Farmington Daily Times reports.

The agreement between Shiprock Northern Navajo Fair Inc. and Northern Navajo Nation Fair is only good for this year's event. SSNF will hand financial matters of the popular fair to the Navajo Nation Financial Services.

SSNF has run the fair in past years but was refusing to give up power when local Navajo leaders created a new entity to handle the fair.
