Monday, September 15, 2003

The Summer Beaver First Nation in Ontario is grieving from a plane crash that killed seven members, including most of the tribal council.

The deputy chief, chief negotiator and two council members were killed in Thursday's crash, leaving the chief and one council member left. The other tribal members killed a were man, a woman and her seven-year-old grandson. The pilot also died but was not a tribal member.

The plane was operated by Wawatay Airways, an inter-tribal owned business.
