Battle over control of upcoming Navajo fair continues
Wednesday, September 10, 2003

Two competing groups are rushing to finalize plans for the 80th Northern Navajo Nation Shiprock Fair, slated for October 2-5.

Shiprock Northern Navajo Fair Inc. has been running the popular event for several years. But local Navajo leaders have created a new entity, the Northern Navajo Nation Fair board, to run the show.

Each group is seeking approval to use the same plot of land for the fair.
