Republican Ueberroth drops out of Calif. recall race
Wednesday, September 10, 2003

Former baseball commissioner Peter V. Ueberroth dropped out of California's recall race on Monday, the second big-name Republican to depart.

That leaves actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and state Sen. Tom McClintock as the only prominent Republicans in the campaign. But according to a poll released yesterday by Field Poll, both trail Lt. Gov. Cruz M. Bustamante (D), although Schwarzenegger only slightly.
