Study shows use of hormone suppresses appetite

Research being published in today's issue of the New England Journal of Medicine found that infusing the digestive system with a hormone reduces appetite. Two groups of 12 people participated in the study. The group that was given an extra dose of peptide YY 3-36, a hormone produced by the digestive system, ate less than those who weren't. The result was immediate, but it also suppressed appetite for the next 24 hours. Get the Story:
