Tribal canoeists endure some rough weather

The Lower Elwha Klallam Reservation in Washington is providing respite for participants of the 2003 Paddle Journey.

Twenty-five canoes representing more than 16 tribes in the Northwest and British Columbia landed on the reservation after encountering some rough weather, The Peninsula Daily News reports.

The crews are expected to land on the Tulalip Reservation on Monday.
