Ore. tribe to open state's first Native charter school

The Confederated Siletz Tribes of Oregon have embarked on an ambitious plan to open the state's first Native American run charter school.

Tribal officials and members went into action after learning a local public elementary school was being shut down. They plan to reopen it as Siletz Valley School and will include Native culture and history as part of the curriculum.
