Judge to hold hearing on land-into-trust

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., will hold a hearing Thursday in a lawsuit challenging a land-into-trust decision.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has agreed to take 79 acres into trust for the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomis of Michigan. The tribe plans to use the land for a casino.

A group called Citizens for Exposing the Truth About Casinos says the BIA failed to address the the environmental impacts of the project.
