Cherokee chief Smith addresses newspaper executives

Cherokee Nation principal chief Chad Smith addressed The Associated Press-Oklahoma News Executives on Wednesday.

Smith, who was recently elected to a second term, spoke on several issues, including anti-Indian prejudice, mascots, sovereignty and gaming. He said the state of Oklahoma should enter into compacts to expand the types of games tribal casinos can offer.
