Alaska village police not allowed to carry guns

The police force in the Yupi'k village of Hooper Bay in Alaska aren't allowed to carry firearms.

According to the Associated Press, the force is the only one in the nation with such a ban. But the police chief says there is a good reason to carry guns. Tribal leaders disagree, saying they will lead to more violent crimes.
