Birthday celebration concert set for Navajo boy
Thursday, July 31, 2003

A concert will be held Saturday in Window Rock, Arizona, to celebrate the third birthday of Dakota Kwiecinski, a Navajo boy with a rare blood disease.

The National Bone Marrow Program will be on hand to register people for its national registry. Only 1 percent of the 5 million people on the registry are Native American, Dakota's grandmother, Kathleen Holmes, told The Farmington Daily Times.

Dakota needs a bone marrow donor to treat his disease.
