Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas is embarking on a long-overdue campus improvement project.

The school needs to raise between $111 million and $123 million to upgrade aging facilities, build new dorms and classrooms and ensure that existing structures meet health, safety and other requirements, The Lawrence Journal-World reported.

“We have a significant problem with our facilities across campus," President Venida Chenault told the paper. “This did not touch every building on campus but tried to address some of the immediate and more critical needs.”

Haskell plans to seek money from tribes, the private sector and other sources. Some funding would presumably come from the federal government.
