Miss Lumbee Alexis Raeana Jones will keep her crown despite questions about her appearance in a music video.

Officials of the Lumbee Regional Development Association, which sponsors the Miss Lumbee pageant, were upset after learning of Jones's role in the “Big Face Hunnits” video earlier this month. But they decided to keep her suspended until February 5 rather than revoke her title, The Robesonian reported.

"We feel it has negative overtones,” Woodrow Dial, the chairman of the LRDA board, told the paper, in reference to the song. The lyrics contain explicit language and the song makes reference to firearms.

In her own YouTube video, Jones acknowledged that it was "inappropriate" to appear in the video due to its lyrical content and imagery. She said she agreed to participate because the song was created by a friend who grew up in Lumbee territory.
