DEADWOOD –– The Deadwood Jam this year opened up with Lakota blues front man, Brandon Sprague (Minnicoujou Lakota) of the Brandon Sprague Blues Band whose guitar-mastery echoed through the historical architecture of downtown Deadwood on Friday, Sept. 18.

Born in Durant, Oklahoma, in 1978, Brandon Sprague began playing guitar when he was 8 years old on an acoustic guitar he received from his father, Donovin Sprague; whom he credits for being his first and foremost musical inspiration.

“My dad gave me everything in music. He introduced me to all the legends and greats," Sprague said.
