Every member of the Havasupai Tribe of Arizona speaks their language, according to a travel writer for The New York Times.

The tribe is based on the floor of Grand Canyon National Park and counts about 500 members. Due to the remoteness of the community, Havasupai remains the first language on the reservation.

The reservation is a big draw for tourists. But poverty remains high -- 37 percent of the population and two-thirds of children, according to the Times.
