American Indian Graduate Center names four board members

The American Indian Graduate Center has four new board members.

Stacy Leeds (Cherokee Nation), Steven L. A. Stallings (Rincon Band), Dana Arviso (Navajo Nation) and Holly Cook Macarro (Red Lake Nation) are joining the organization that provides scholarship to Native students across the nation.

The four will serve along with Michael Bird (Kewa and Ohkay Owingeh), Rose Graham (Navajo), Danna Jackson (Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes), Walt Lamar (Blackfeet Nation) and Joel Frank (Seminole Tribe),

“The addition of Stacy, Steven, Dana and Holly to our board of directors is truly representative of AIGC’s commitment to support higher education scholarships and services in all areas of study,” said Bird, who serves as chairman of the board. “With the addition of these talented and dynamic board members, the board’s base of knowledge, capacity, and capability is significantly enhanced.”

AIGC has awarded more than $52 million in scholarships in the last 45 years. The organization is playing a key role in the distribution of scholarships from the Cobell trust fund lawsuit.
