A village public safety officer is under investigation for allegedly using a Taser or a stun gun on two boys in an Alaska Native village.

The incident occurred in December in Kake. The boys apparently asked what it felt like to be tasered so the officer used the weapon on them.

“I’m just not happy about the whole situation,” Terrie Ward, whose 11-year-old son was one of the boys involved, told The Juneau Empire. “To me, this is considered child abuse.”

The Alaska State Troopers and the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes are investigating the incident.
