Evo Morales won re-election on Sunday to a historic third term as president of Bolivia.

Morales, who is Aymara, secured 60 percent of the vote in a five-way race. His closest challenger only got 25 percent.

“This victory is the victory of the anti-colonialists and the anti-imperialists," Morales told supporters, The New York Times reported.

Morales, a coca farmer, first won election in 2005. He is the first Indian president of a country where Indians and mixed-race Indians make up 65 percent of the population.
