Albert Bender: Fair treatment needed for indigenous migrants

Albert Bender calls on President Barack Obama to develop a humane policy towards indigenous migrants to the United States:
“American Indians welcome our people from Central America; They are refugees.”

So reads a headline from a recent Native American online publication. This should be the sentiment of all decent-minded Americans. In fact, it is, as the latest polls indicate that 69 percent of the American people are in favor of the border-crisis children staying in this country.

This brings up the question: Why has President Obama turned against helpless, terrified children? “Do not send your children to the borders,” says Obama. “If they do make it, they’ll get sent back. More importantly, they might not make it.”

Is he being ventriloquized, or is this the real Obama? This is not the Obama I campaigned and voted for.
