Tunica-Biloxi Tribe announces leaders after death of chairman





The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana has named a new chairman and vice chairman.

Marshall Pierite, who previously served as vice chair, will complete the term of Earl J. Barbry Sr., who died on July 31 at the age of 62. Barbry had led the tribe 35 years and his term would have expired in April 2014.

Marshall Ray Sampson Sr., a council member, will serve as vice chair. He will complete Pierite's term, which expires in April 2016.
