Morongo Band distributes 10K turkeys to local organizations

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians is distributing 10,000 frozen turkeys to organizations in southern California.

The Thanksgiving turkey giveaway dates back 27 years. The tribe helps organizations get food to people and families that need it most.

“We feel so blessed to have so much, we want to give back to the community,” Holly Valencia, the tribe’s community outreach point-person, told The Riverside Press-Enterprise.

Last year, the tribe donated 7,000 turkeys.
