Competitor dies during Indian National Finals Rodeo in Nevada





A 25-year-old man from Missouri died after being injured during the 37th annual Indian National Finals Rodeo in Nevada on Saturday night.

J.D. Jones was competing in the saddle bronc riding competition when he was injured. His tribal affiliation wasn't reported.

Rodeo participants and attendees raised over $15,000 for Jones' family. He leaves behind a wife and an infant son.

The fatality was the first in the INFR's history, a spokesperson said.
