Pawnee Nation approves per caps from trust fund settlement

The Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma will share about half of a $4.4 million trust fund settlement on a per capita basis.

The tribe set aside $2 million for a per capita payment. Each of the 3,500 members will receive $600.

The tribe will use another $2 million for programs and services. A committee will decide exactly where the money will go.

The remainder of the settlement will be used to pay the Native American Rights Fund, which represented the tribe.
