More Indian plaintiffs coming forward for church abuse lawsuit

More Indian plaintiffs have come forward for a lawsuit alleging abuse by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Helena.

The lawsuit was filed last September with 45 plaintiffs from a boarding school on the reservation of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Now, a total of 200 have signed up, including victims from the Blackfeet Nation.

“I think we’ve just hit the tip of the iceberg up in that community,” attorney Tim Kosnoff told the Associated Press, referring to the Blackfeet Nation.
