Judge in Brazil blocks rail line expansion, citing threats to tribe





A judge in Brazil blocked the expansion of a rail line, citing threats to a remote tribe in the forest.

Vale planned to expand the line in order to service iron ore mines. But the judge said the project threatens the health and welfare of the Awa Tribe.

Vale was ordered to undergo an environmental review for the project.
