Tribes in Minnesota contribute at least $138K to state politicians

Tribes have contributed at least $138,000 to state campaigns so far in the 2012 election cycle, Politics in Minnesota reported.

Most of the money went to Democrats. The DFL House Caucus and DFL Senate Caucus received a total of $64,500 from tribes.

Republicans received some money. But the tribal donations were far less -- only $21,000.

Reports were filed by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe and the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, among other tribes.
