Cote First Nation distributes $130M settlement to its members





The Cote First Nation of Saskatchewan will distribute a $130.7 million land claim settlement to its members.

Band members can choose to receive a lump-sum payment or payments over multiple years. For adults between 18 and 65, the lump-sum comes to $20,000 and for elders over the age of 65, it comes to $25,000.

For adults who choose to receive their payments over time, the total comes to $24,000 over 16 years. For elders, the total comes to $30,000 over 20 years.

Minors will receive $20,000 upon turning 18 .Or they can agree to a series of payments to be determined when they come of age.
