Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe re-elects Frances Charles as its leader






Frances Charles has been re-elected chair of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe of Washington.

Charles was first elected chair in 2005. She will serve her eighth consecutive term.

“My hands go up to my tribe for giving me this honor. I am full of gratitude to continuing serving as the tribal chair for the community, the youth, the elders, the veterans, and even the ancestors of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe,” Charles said.

Charles won election with over 70 percent of the vote.
